OUR CENTRE MANAGER

Centre Manager: Lyn
LYN TECOFSKY
Kia ora whānau,
I’m excited to introduce myself to the Kids Cave community. I feel incredibly fortunate to join the amazing teaching team as Centre Manager.
I originally trained as a kindergarten teacher in Palmerston North, and my journey in early childhood education has led me through many rewarding roles. I’ve been a Head Teacher in South Taranaki, a Home-Based Coordinator, and the Academic Services Manager for a Child Protection Training Agency. I’ve also worked closely with New Zealand Police Education Officers at the Police College, facilitated for Brainwave Trust, and volunteered as a Homicide Support Worker with Victim Support. Most recently, I’ve managed several early learning centres across the Waikato, including my most recent role at Gumboots and Grasshoppers in Te Kowhai.
Children are at the heart of everything I do. My philosophy is grounded in creating a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where tamariki can learn, grow, and flourish.
My husband Glen and I live on a small farmlet with a lively animal crew — Tarzan the goat, Mischief the alpaca, 11 chickens, and our two dogs, Toby and Milo. We also share our home with four of our nine children. As a family, we love spending time with our children and grandchildren, enjoying the company of our animals, and taking part in car club cruises and social get-togethers with friends.
I’m truly looking forward to meeting you all and being part of your children’s learning journey. Our doors are always open — and there’s always a cup of tea waiting.
Ngā mihi nui,
Lyn Tecofsky
